Consulting engagement
Universal Electrics: structuring a wholesale business

Business context
Universal Electrics is a B2B distributor of professional LED lighting products and electrical solutions serving contractors, installers, retailers, and commercial customers.
The engagement took the business from zero to launch in nine weeks: forming the corporation and structuring it, registering for an EIN, setting up banking, planning operations, and recruiting qualified staff.
My role
I led the business strategy and management of the engagement, including the analysis behind the restructuring, banking, and hiring decisions.
What the engagement covered
The scope, as confirmed:
- Separating the wholesale line of business from retail.
- Coordinating corporate restructuring.
- Filing the new corporation’s forming documents.
- Obtaining an EIN.
- Consulting on financial product selection with corporate banks.
- Hiring qualified staff.
