Where owners get stuck

Recognize where your business is held back.

Most engagements begin with one of three situations. Each has a clear place to start.

  • Growth has stalled

Offers blend together, the business targets too many customers, or revenue depends on too few channels.

Starting point Business model and offer assessment

    Business Strategy & Business Models
  • Marketing is disconnected

The website, messaging, campaigns, and sales follow-up do not work toward the same outcome.

    Starting point Customer acquisition assessment

    Digital Marketing & Social Media
  • The owner is the bottleneck

Delivery, handoffs, tools, and responsibilities rely on constant intervention.

Starting point Operations and systems assessment

Process

Six stages, and a loop between testing and refining.

We begin with your current reality, agree on the problem worth solving, and test practical improvements before expanding the investment.

A loop between testing and refining

Testing and refinement repeat as a loop: each test feeds the next round of measurement, and when assumptions fail the work returns to design. Handover follows agreed readiness criteria, not a promised result.

  1. Assess

Customers, offers, channels, systems, and performance
    Work
Review goals, customer evidence, offers, financial indicators, marketing, sales, tools, and delivery. Interview key people.
    Output
    Current-state map, baseline, data gaps.
    Decision gate
Agree on objectives, usable evidence, and access.
  2. Diagnose

    Evidence-backed problems and opportunities
    Work
Separate symptoms from likely causes. Compare constraints across the customer journey and the operation.
    Output
Problem statements and a bottleneck map with confidence levels.
    Decision gate
Choose the problem whose resolution is most valuable and feasible.
  3. Design

Options ranked by impact, confidence, cost, and effort
    Work
Generate alternatives. Compare expected impact, confidence, cost, effort, and dependencies.
    Output
Solution options, roadmap, measurement plan, ownership.
    Decision gate
Approve the first test and the spending limit.
  4. Test & implement

A scoped change, an owner, and a measurable hypothesis
    Work
    Run the smallest useful change.
    Output
Deployed pilot, hypothesis, baseline, test window, success threshold, and safeguards.
    Decision gate
Verify that the change works technically and produces usable observations.
  5. Measure & refine

Continue, adapt, expand, or stop based on results
    Work
Review performance and qualitative feedback. Distinguish promising signals from proven effects.
    Output
Dashboard, experiment readout, decisions, revised backlog.
    Decision gate
Continue, adapt, expand, or stop. Revisit the design if assumptions fail.

Repeat testing and refinement as needed. Revisit design if assumptions fail.

  6. Handover

    Documentation, training, responsibilities, next priorities
    Work
Provide documentation and training, establish operating responsibilities, and identify improvements as needs evolve.
    Output
SOPs, access inventory, dashboard guide, owner matrix, and next-priority list.
    Decision gate
Named owners can run the process, access is transferred, and unresolved work is acknowledged.

Testing and refinement repeat as a loop: each test feeds the next round of measurement, and when assumptions fail the work returns to design. Handover follows agreed readiness criteria, not a promised result.

  2. Paid business assessment

A defined review of your current situation, key constraints, and opportunities. You receive a prioritized roadmap with proposed tests, responsibilities, and measurement.

    Discuss an Assessment
  3. Scoped implementation

Implement the agreed priorities through a project or an ongoing oversight arrangement, with a budget, responsibilities, checkpoints, and handover criteria set in advance.

FAQ

Common questions.

If yours is not here, the introductory call is the place to ask.

Who is this for?

Established retailers, wholesalers, and service businesses with paying customers and a specific growth or operating problem. It works best when I can work with the decision-maker, have access to your data, and you have capacity to implement changes. Technology-enabled businesses that need product strategy are also a good fit.

Can you implement, or only advise?

Both. I lead the analysis, strategy, and management of each engagement and coordinate the agreed implementation work, with delegated support for social media management and graphic design. Any custom engineering responsibilities are agreed per project.

What does the assessment deliver?

A prioritized roadmap: the changes most likely to improve performance, proposed tests for the first of them, who owns each, and how results will be measured. It also records where the data is thin, so you can judge how much to trust each recommendation.

Can we work remotely?

Yes. I work with businesses across the U.S., and assessments, reviews, and reporting can run over video calls and shared documents. I also meet clients in person in the Los Angeles area. If you would like in-person time, raise it on the introductory call and we can discuss what is practical.

How is scope agreed?

After the introductory call, the paid assessment defines the problem worth solving. Any implementation is then scoped with a budget, responsibilities, checkpoints, and handover criteria agreed before work starts. Pricing is scope-based, so there is no rate card.
