Who this policy covers
This site, garrymconsulting.com, is run by Garry Mkrtchyan, doing business as Garry M Consulting, a sole proprietorship in California. In this policy, “I” and “me” mean Garry Mkrtchyan, and “the site” means garrymconsulting.com.
This policy explains what information I collect through the site, why, who else handles it, how long I keep it, and what you can ask me to do with it.
Who the site is for
The site is intended for businesses in the United States. I also work with businesses in Armenia, and you are welcome to get in touch from there. Wherever you write from, I handle your information as this policy describes.
The site is not directed at people in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, and it is not directed at anyone under 18. I do not knowingly collect information from children.
Information you send me
- Contact form: your name, email address, company or website, your message, and, if you choose one, the topic you are interested in. The form sends these to my business mailbox by email, over an encrypted connection to the email server. The site itself keeps no database of submissions.
- Booking a call: the booking is made on Calendly, which collects the details you enter under its own privacy policy. Calendly is connected to my Google Calendar, and calls are held on Google Meet, so your name, email address, and the time of the call also appear there. This site does not receive or store those details.
- Mailing list: if you tick the box on the contact form, ask to hear from me, or agree when I ask, I add your name and email address to my email list. When you tick the box, the message I receive records that you did, with the date and time. I do not add anyone who has not agreed.
Please do not send passwords, financial account numbers, or other sensitive personal information through the form or in a call booking.
Information collected automatically
- Web host logs: my web host keeps standard server logs, such as your IP address, the pages you request, and your browser type, for 30 days.
- Spam protection: the contact form uses Google reCAPTCHA to tell people from automated programs. It works in the background, with no box to tick, and gives each message a score. It loads only on the Contact page, when you are about to use the form. Google receives information such as your IP address, browser and device details, and how you interact with the page, and may set a cookie or similar identifier, under the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. The form also keeps a short-lived, one-way (hashed) record of the connection a message came from, for up to an hour, to limit abuse.
- Cookies and tracking: at the time of writing, the site sets no cookies of its own and uses no analytics, advertising, or chat tools. If you use the switch to turn animations off, your choice is remembered in your browser’s local storage. It stays on your device, is not sent to me, and the site works without it. Fonts are served from the site, not from a third party. Because the site does not track you across other websites, it treats every visitor the same, whatever your browser’s Do Not Track setting.
How I use information
- To reply to your inquiry and talk through whether and how I can help.
- To schedule and hold calls.
- To keep a record of our conversations, so I can follow up.
- To keep the site and the contact form secure and free of spam.
- To send you emails you asked for or agreed to, such as follow-up messages. Each one has an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask me to stop at any time.
I do not sell your personal information, and I do not use it for advertising.
Where it is kept, and who else handles it
Inquiries start in my business email. I may also copy the details into ClickUp, the customer-relationship (CRM) software I use, and into spreadsheets, Google Workspace, and Google Drive, so I can keep track of conversations and follow up. Only I read incoming inquiries.
The services that handle information for me are: my email and web hosting provider (Spaceship and its Spacemail service); Google (reCAPTCHA, Google Calendar, Google Meet, and Google Workspace); Calendly, for bookings; and ClickUp, my CRM.
I share information only with providers that help me run the business, only as needed for that, or when the law requires it. Links to other sites, such as LinkedIn and the companies mentioned in my case studies, take you to services with their own privacy policies.
How long I keep it
- Inquiries and related records: I do not run an automatic deletion schedule. I keep them until I delete them, and I delete yours within 30 days if you ask (see “Your choices and rights”).
- Mailing list: until you unsubscribe or ask me to remove you.
- Server logs: 30 days, held by my web host.
- Spam-protection record: up to one hour.
I may keep something longer if the law requires it, or while we have an engagement in progress. Deleted messages may remain in mailbox backups until those backups are overwritten.
How I protect it
I use two-factor sign-in on my email and hosting accounts, and I keep backups of my mailbox. The contact form passes each message to my mailbox over an encrypted connection, and the site is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. No way of storing or sending information is completely secure, so I cannot promise absolute security.
Your choices and rights
You can ask what information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Use the contact form and start your message with “Privacy request”. I will respond within 30 days, and I may need to confirm that the request really comes from you.
You can unsubscribe from emails using the link in any message, or by asking me to stop.
Google and Calendly keep their own copies of what you give them. Use their own privacy tools for those.
California residents can make the same requests, and I will respond within 30 days. I do not sell personal information.
Changes to this policy
If I change this policy, I will post the new version here and update the date below.
