Universal Home Decor: forming, structuring, and certifying a U.S. distributor

Business context

Universal Home Decor is the exclusive distributor in the USA of comfort.am (“EKOPROF” LLC), an Armenian manufacturer of plastic decorative molding products.

My role

I led the formation, structuring, certification, and technical documentation effort of the company.

What the engagement covered

The scope, as confirmed:

  • Forming the corporation and advising on its structure.
  • Hiring personnel.
  • Structuring and setting up a CRM to streamline and oversee distribution sales volume and channels.
  • Initiating the product placement process with both Home Depot and Lowe’s.
  • Researching and working with U.S.-based laboratories to obtain clearance under California Proposition 65 and the ASTM E84 and ASTM E648 certifications. All three were obtained.
  • Documenting and preparing the 10-year product warranty documents.
